Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a clan of musicians. Growing up, she listened to many classical music and traditional Boleros. Also, she listened to traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana is enthusiastic about operas and tangos. Additionally, she enjoys drama performances. She started singing and studying musical instruments with her mother before beginning her vocal instruction when she was 16 under the renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and then in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. When she was a student, and a young professional, she sang with various chamber groups as well as opera choruses throughout Guadalajara and Mexico City. She was a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to the south of California. She currently performs traditional Latin American songs at private concerts as a singer. Being a teacher and a musician she's committed to several community initiatives because of her love and enthusiasm for music. Ana was also a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that with the sharing her love of Latin American traditional songs, to instill a passion, particularly among younger people in keeping the music alive.
