Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her roles in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! In the 80s when she started her acting career, and was well-known for the character Tezaab which she played with an established actor Anil Kapooor. Next, she appeared with Aamir in Dil. As a child her Mumbai-born dancer started developing her skills at a young age. She started acting when an infant and was struggling for a few years as many of her early film projects were unsuccessful. Eventually she became one the biggest actresses of Indian film. Following her marriage she had a break in her career before re-entering the business. Recenty, she had an important performance on the film Gulaab Gang. The film featured the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit won eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen she was nominated for. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Also, she has earned a name for her social activism.
