Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl of just five and moved to Oxfordshire and went to at the Dragon School. Emma aged six at the time she decided to become an actress. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. At the age of 10 Emma was already taking part in numerous Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel premiered for the first time in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been cast in these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It set new records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature of the year 2001. Critics have praised both the film and the performances by the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's performance "amazing". In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five awards based on her performance in the film. She was the winner of her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in a Feature Film.
